Comprehensive Continuous Evaluation Free Essays

Over the years it is the opinion of every educationist, teacher and general public that board or annual school examinations based on tests in two or three hours duration provide limited information on various elements of curriculum and range of learning in any subjects. Accounting Business Analysis Fraudulent Financial

Question: Discuss about the Accounting Business Analysisfor Fraudulent Financial. Answer: Introduction The report is about Roshill, one of the companies that operate around 150-hectare landfill site. The company is said to be operating a garbage collection business. This has permitted the firm to locate good potential landfill site, getting all permits required as well as acqyuiring small rubbish collection businesses in providing captive customers for collecting from other contractors and for landfill. With these considerations, this paper presents analysis of the main issues being experienced in Roshill in terms of fraudulent financial reporting, independence of auditors as well as corporate strategies in order to provide recommendations on whether Sam should sell his shares immediately or whether he should wait. Discussion and Analysis Fraudulent Financial Reporting The company is currently performing poorly in terms of financial position due to the fact that after reclassification of some of the financial statements items to expenses, it is said to report huge net losses over the years. In addition, from this case, it is evident that Roshill was actually using fraudulent financial reporting before the announcement of the change in its accounting policy. This is based on the fact that by changing its accounting policy, its share prices decreased from around $31 to $11 within a day. This also resulted to reinstatement of the companys net income for the year 2015 to net loss. There was another fraudulent financial reporting where by the capitalization formula used by the company resulted in around $4 million of the costs having been capitalized twice; hence, lowering the 2015 expenses and resulting in an increase in its reported profits. This is totally acceptable and unethical for any company since this could give a false picture of the financial performance of the company; attracting more investors to invest in this firm. Furthermore, there is a fraudulent financial reporting in this case where by the company capitalized $43 million of the indirect costs incurred in obtaining rubbish collection and the $27 million in the start-up costs which were supposed to be classified as expenses. This act resulted in falsified financial data of the company; hence, swaying potential investors to invest in the company. From this case, it is evident that the companys act of keeping overhead expenses low and gross profit margin high is another sign of fraudulent financial reporting since it resulted in untrue figures and picture of the companys performance. In addition, the accounting act of accounting for the indirect costs for the landfills as well as other properties was a fraudulent financial reporting since it resulted in exaggeration of the companys after-tax earnings by around $362 million and a reported $149 million in profits for the 2009-2015 which was not the actual figures. Auditors Independence In addition, in this case, it is evident that auditors independence was interrupted by the CEO. This is based on the fact that the auditor and CFO had been partners in auditing the companys financial statements, before Kelly became the CFO. In essence, there is interruption of auditors independence in that while the auditor was conducting their audit work, they had to consult Kelly who was at one point the audit partner before becoming the CFO. This resulted to interruption of the auditors independence while conducting their audit work. There is also a decrease in shares to less than $7 as a result of change in auditors. This decrease might have been as a result of fear of shareholders that the audit report could find out that the company was incurring huge losses; hence, resulting in significant decrease in share prices to very low levels. Corporate Strategies Issues There is also some corporate strategies issues where by investors were unaware of the companys accounting policies for the indirect costs that were not disclosed in the accounting policies footnotes. Failure to disclose the accounting policies resulted to poor corporate and accounting strategies since it resulted in exaggeration of financial data unnoticed by investors. Nature of the Business Currently, the company is currently experience some financial difficulties with in its businesses. In essence, despite the company adopting expansion strategy in acquiring rubbing collection businesses, the business is a bit involving and costly; making the company to sell around 26% of its take for $10 million in IPO. This has made the company business to be operations instead of being developmental. The business is also said to be experiencing a huge loss over the period. It is also Conclusion In conclusion, it is evident that Roshill has been using fraudulent financial reporting over the past few years and particularly in the financial year 2014 and 2015. This mainly as a result of huge losses that were reported after reclassification of some of the items in the asset accounts as expenses. In addition, it is evident that Roshill operations were all marked with numerous challenges; hence, increased losses. Recommendation Based on above analysis and with the fact that Roshill reported a net loss instead of profit for the financial year 2015 and given that its share price decreased from as high as $37 in 2016 to around $4 per shares, it would be advisable for Sam Miller should not sell off all his shares immediately. This is based on the fact that by selling his shares immediately, he is likely to incur some huge losses as a result of this decrease in share prices. In essence, Sam should not sell his shares immediately but should at least wait for the audit report in order to get an idea whether there is any probability of price of these shares to increase in future. Tips for Success at College

Who would not want to be successful at every stage of life? While each person may have a different definition of success, a general definition states that any person who is able to achieve his goals and shows progress in his life is said to be successful. At college, there are several ways in which students can be successful i.e. success in academics, success in student-run societies, success at job and success at sports. Some students are able to achieve all of these while some cannot even be successful in one task. I made up my mind to excel in academics and one other activity which, according to me, would make me a successful student at college. I used to write my essay carefully, submit assignments well before deadline and developed good relations with instructors and teaching assistants. Furthermore, I served as the president of Media and Arts society of my college for one academic year. Following are some tips that can help you become successful at college in any category you want: Developing contacts with people: Experts and graduated students claim that the most successful students among all are those who are in good terms with as many people from various batches as possible. If you have links with people, you will be able to get several tasks done easily through their reference. Also, you can achieve success at societies through your reference: someone you know will definitely favor you over anyone else. So as soon as college begins, start getting involved in ice breaking activities and interact with people by yourself. As a freshman, very few people will approach you to interact so it is your responsibility to talk to people on any topic. Remember, do not annoy people by trying to interact too much. Have the passion and dedication: Nobody in this world can stop a passionate and dedicated person to succeed in anything he wants. Set a clear goal for yourself so that you can work on it with dedication. Spend a lot of time and efforts keeping in mind that you are not alone running in the race. You will meet a number of competitors who would want to reach the heights you are aiming at so you can only win if you regularly show passion and dedication towards the goal. Give your 100% and make it visible to the higher authorities. Get proficient in time management: A lot of students could not achieve everything they want just because they are not able to manage time properly. Learn how to divide all your tasks properly in the available time because the most successful entrepreneurs and industrialists claim time management to be the most crucial thing in life. So from the very first day of college, try allocating the time appropriately between tasks. You can do this in a better way by writing down a timetable for the entire week. Eventually, you will get proficient in time management and focus well on the goals. Eliminate procrastination and laziness from your life: This point is quite self-explanatory. The key to success in any task is avoiding procrastination and laziness at all times. These habits can lead you to miss out on a lot of opportunities. I used to write my essay and do my assignments as soon as they were assigned to me.

Miss M Maserati Essay

Miss M Maserati Essay Miss M Maserati Essay Core Beliefs are things you know and things you believe that are true about yourself regardless of what anyone else thinks or feels about you. For example If i said to myself â€Å"i am clever, i am handsome, i’m a great person with lots of value † whilst you cannot pinpoint this and says its 100% true what others think or say should not matter anyway in reality . The point is that what you are is limited by what you think about yourself or to better put it: what you know you are. If we have positive core beliefs and attribute them to ourselves even through we are slightly pretending they eventually become part of us and we create our own reality of we believe. We address ourselves with positive thoughts and feelings regardless of where we are or what we are doing. Some people can pretend as a way of jumping onto the first step whilst some who have mastered their belief system to its fullest are able to simply feel good about themselves and have no problem keeping their head straight knowing that they are someone special, what anyone else says does not effect their opinion of themselves. Someone who knows their own value is in a reality of â€Å"im good, im feeling great and i can do anything if i put my mind to it†. This goes double if it actually is true to other people. Then again what is true? True is when someone considers them self that it is true, it is something proven or shown. Do you consider it true that you are a person of high value? Becau se that is all that matters. Of course people have different views on different people but you yourself are actually creating your own reality of what is right about yourself. This is not to say you should lie to yourself all the time but be true to yourself. If someone has ditched you like a friend for example does not mean you should think with the mindset â€Å"i am a bad friend and useless, i will go cry now†. What instead should happen is that if you did do something wrong you would apologize and instead of beating yourself forgive yourself as soon as possible, life is too short to beat ourselves up 100 times with a negative thought process then make identity for ourselves by reminding our self 100 times what we did to the other person. This is just one example. In another example you can actually trick yourself into enjoying something like maths classes. I would tell myself in my head it is exciting and enjoy it even if it was not my favorite subject. The point here is that your almost tricking your brain into thinking a certain way but at the same your not, your just being true to the way you think. Remember when i touched on positivity well it is core beliefs that is behind it all, if you practice you can master it. â€Å"You tend to think that your beliefs are rigid or unchanging. When what your belief is, is only a thought that you keep thinking. It’s more like a habit of thought†¦Ã¢â‚¬ Core beliefs are not outside facts rather it is just something you believe to be true and know yourself, no one else can comes into the equation of what you think. IT is simply that your thought about yourself is actually more important than others, of course its silly to ignore others thoughts and just consider them as nothing but what they say should make you the person you are. A core belief can originate from a place of positivity or negativity. So when you are thinking in your head â€Å"i don’t deserve to be in this persons presence† this is a negative core belief that you yourself has made up for no reason. When you say â€Å"i am a person of high value and a lot to offer† this is a positive core belief, you are thinking highly of yourself. Let me give you some examples of positive and negative Core Beliefs: Positive core beliefs: 1. I am a good worker (I am incompetent) 2. I am am loved by many (I am Lovable ) 3. I am effective,

A feminist superhero Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1750 words

A feminist superhero - Essay Example Frida Kahlo mentored by Iris Marion Young, who is a feminist theorist, under whose feministic argument and glow, the superhero sails. The paper exploits the underlying reasons as to why feminists seek liberation as well as how they seek to get that liberation. Frida Kahlo has the power facing the reality as it is fearless. Though she was born in 1907, as she grew up Frida claimed that she was born in 1910 - the year when the Mexican Revolution begun - so that people would directly associate her with the revolution (Chadwick, 2007). Association with revolution signified her fearlessness and ability to go against the social norms of the time. Empowered with the advice of Irish Marion who was very vocal against the gendered positioning of women as objects, Frida revolted against the predominantly held paternalistic ideologies and beliefs of the time (Ferguson & Nagel, 2009). Further, Frida had the ability to communicate her feelings through paintings she was an artist. â€Å"Look at the society in which you have been born and see the image that women are presented. Aren’t they seen as objects in the society?† Marion would ask Kahlo referring to the domination of women by men. â€Å"I had no choice to be born in such a paternal society where male sex is always considered superior to their female counterparts.† Frida responded naively. â€Å"Use then your artistic work to liberate women from the traditional obscurity and bring them to the fore light of recognition in the society.† This mentor’s advice brought hope to solving the historical stalemate that has traditionally positioned women as objects rather than fellow human beings capable of self-expression and independent opinion (Chadwick, 2007). Walking in the light and mentorship of Young Marion, Frida Kahlo staged a revolution through her living experiences and her artworks. Looking through her artwork and paintings,
